I am a student at Cal Poly SLO majoring in journalism with a minor in law & society. I will be starting at Mustang News as an Arts and Student Life reporter in the coming fall, and I am a part of our Journalists of Color club.

While in high school, I was a member of the journalism program for three years. During that time, I was a staff writer for Scot Scoop, the news website, and a senior editor for the Highlander, the newsmagazine. I enjoy reporting on current events within my community and the world.

I specialize in journalistic writing, but I have expanded to multimedia and design work in the past few years. I worked with The Stanford Daily in their Summer 2022 Multimedia Workshop, and created a photo essay and artwork for the program. I have also contributed artwork and layout design to the Highlander as part of my editorial responsibilities. To practice my graphic design skills, I took the San Francisco Academy of Art's Concept Zine course in the summer of 2022, and created my own (unpublished) zine. I also worked on various graphics for extracurricular activities throughout high school. You can find links to all of my published and edited pieces in the portfolio tab. I am currently applying to minor in Graphic Communications so I can continue my design work, and I am taking classes for my major to expand my multimedia skills.

In addition to graphic design, I also worked with different facets of media law. I co-founded the Scot Scoop Ethics and Legal Team as a senior in high school. I hope to further my interest in media law through my law & society minor. You can find more about my work with the ethics team on the Law and Ethics page under the portfolio tab.

I participated in the Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute's youth leadership academy (APALI YLA) in the summer of 2021. I am now part of the APALI YLA network, and I hope to continue working with this group in the future. I also joined the Korean American Community Foundation (KACF) network in 2023, and hope to continue developing connections with this community as well.

On a more personal note, I like to be creative and listen to music in my free time. My favorite genre of music is K-pop, and I enjoy watching K-dramas. I was president of Carlmont's Korean Culture Club for two years, and involved in leadership for a total of three years. I contributed content to our YouTube channel and Instagram account, using both video editing and graphic design skills. You can see some of my work for this club on the Design page of the portfolio tab. When I began attending university, I joined Cal Poly's Kaja Krew, our K-pop dance team, which I participate in performances for.
